Joss Attal
À Propos
My expression reflects my reflections on identity, boundaries, free will. He talks about our relationship to the world.
Our grandeur, our smallness in a powerful environment, both by its beauty and its dangerous nature. I draw from existing, identifiable elements, reformulate the definite space, and try to open to a new field possibilities where one is more circumscribed to a territory or to a particular form, more here or elsewhere. I compose with more, or less charge of pigments.
Cuts, collages of carved or painted materials - cotton threads, sewn plastic threads. Echoing my paintings, I designed sculpture installations, in metallic mesh on colored elements to settle, hang, or cross.
